Description
Taiwanese Angelica Apiaceae
A large architectural Angelica with masses of umbels of scented white flowers in early summer held above large deeply divided leaves. Purple stems. More suited to a sunny position than many other Angelicas. Shorter than our native Angelica archangelica. Attracts large numbers of pollinators. Ht 1-1.5 m, shorter in full sun.
Used in Taiwanese cooking. Especially in pork or chicken broths. Strong flavour so is used more as a spice.
