Description
A red sport of Williams’ Bon Cretien discovered in Victoria in Australia. It produces pears with bright red skin when ripe, with flesh creamy-white, melting and juicy. The tree is attractive enough to be used in the ornamental garden as all new foliage is shiny and coppery red, especially attractive when contrasted against the white flowers in spring. Its growth habit is compact and upright so is suitablefor smaller spaces or is well suited to training as a cordon. Raised in Australia in 1940.
