Description
A splendid architectural shrub for a shady or semi-shady position, with humus-rich, moist, but well drained soil. It will tolerate a sunny position if the soil is moist. From November to March fragrant, deep yellow, 23-30cm (9-12ins) long racemes of flowers appear at the tips of the stems which are a valuable source of nectar. These are followed in summer by deep blue-black berries which are attractive to birds. Height 2.4 – 3m (8 – 10ft), spread 1.8 – 2.4m (6 – 8ft).
