Description
Widely distributed throughout tropical Africa and Asia, this climbing, dry deciduous perennial with an underground rhizome is related to lilies. It is widely popular for its beautiful red and yellow flowers which look like a flame. Plants climb to a height of about 2.5m and flowers appear in mid-summer, from July to September. Plants climb best with support such as a trellis or frame.
