Description
Corky-fruited Water-Dropwort Apiaceae
Attractive perennial umbellifer, with masses of white flowers in late spring/early summer. Forms a strong upright clump to 1 metre.
Edible tubers produced in autumn. Delicious roasted with sesame oil. Good yields if grown in full sun. Mediterranean native.
Caution is needed as other members of this genus are poisonous.
The is often wrongly sold as Bunium bulbocastaneum (Earth Chestnut) that produces a single tuber.
