Description
Very striking form with dark purple-black stems and dark green leaves, with slight purple flush, which turn reddish-purple in autumn. Clusters of creamy-white flowers early summer which are nectar and pollen rich so attract bees and other insects, followed by white fruits in autumn which are loved by birds. Deciduous. Will make a good informal hedge. For this purpose plant 60cm (2ft) apart.
