Description
Panicum virgatum Shenandoah is a deciduous, perennial grass, perfect for adding texture and colour to gardens. Slender leaves are blue-green in colour from spring until summer, before turning shades of burgundy and purple. As the foliage changes colour towards the end of summer, masses of tiny, reddish purple flowers bloom in airy clusters on the end of stems.
Plant Panicum virgatum Shenandoah in moist, well-drained chalky, loamy or sandy soil in a sunny spot in the garden. In spring, pruning back any dead foliage and flowers will encourage growth for the coming season. A perfect plant for adding to beds and borders, or mass planting for a beautiful, colourful display of foliage and flowers.
