Buddleja Davdii ‘Buzz Lavender’ is a hardy, compact, deciduous, dwarf shrub with grey-green, pointed leaves. This wonderful, well-branched variety is very floriferous, producing rich violet-lilac flowers with an orange eye over a long time in the summer. Also known as the Butterfly Bush, its stunning flowers are very sweetly scented, full of nectar and are renowned for attracting butterflies, bees and other insects. Due to its dwarf plant habit, it is excellent for growing in containers for 2-3 years but is then best planted in a border to enjoy for years to come.

Plant in fertile, well-drained soil and in full sun. Deadhead faded buddleja flowers to prolong the flowering season. In early spring prune it back hard annually, down to a low framework. It is root hardy in the ground and survives normal winter conditions outside, especially if protected from the hardest frosts but in a container it will need extra protection in very cold winters.
