Description
Sow seeds from mid-February to March in modules or trays undercover.
Sow 1-2 cm deep in moist, fertile seed compost and lightly cover.
Keep soil consistently warm and moist.
The seeds should germinate in 14-21 days.
Pot on seedlings once large enough to handle, maintaining bright, sheltered conditions.
Transplant outdoors from mid-April to July in a sunny, well-drained position, spacing plants 50 cm apart in rows 90 cm apart.
Harvest from the third year, between April and June, taking only the thick, tender shoots.
