Description
Sow the seeds indoors between February-June and September-October.
Use trays of moist, welldrained seed compost and surface sow the seeds.
Cover the seeds very lightly with a thin layer of soil.
Place in a cold frame or warm spot until seedlings appear.
Germination usually takes 720 days.
Transplant seedlings into small pots when large enough to handle.
Harden off young plants gradually before planting outside.
After the risk of frost has passed, plant out 50cm apart.
Water until established, then only in dry spells.
Cut back old stems and foliage in spring before new growth appears.
