Cereus azureus (Pilosocereus azureus)

Description

Originating from Brazil, this striking columnar cactus ascends with blue-silver stems, covered in pale golden spines. As the plant matures some of its ribs will produce a ‘pseudocephalium’, thick and soft tufts of hair from which flowers emerge.

WATERING

In summer water thoroughly only when 100% of the soil has dried out. A/W refrain from watering. In spring gradually increase watering – depending on temperature and light exposure.

LIGHT REQUIREMENTS

Full sun.

FEED

Use a cactus fertiliser 3-4 times from April – September.

REPOTTING

Repot every 2-3 years to replenish the nutrients within the soil.
