Miscanthus Gold Bar

Description

A relatively compact variety of the normally tall miscanthus, the ‘Gold Bar’ is a beautiful ornamental cultivar with narrow, flat, arching green leaves covered in cream-yellow cross-banding. This upright, clump-forming perennial grass carries light plumes of tiny, silver-white flowers from the middle of Summer and lasting until the start of the Winter. A versatile and hardy grass suitable for most locations and displays.

Plant in moderately fertile, well-drained soils and keep in full sun. Hardy and drought tolerant once established, thriving in exposed coastal locations as well. Does not tolerate waterlogged soil during the Winter, which may cause root damage.
