Phormium are evergreen perennials, making a large clump of leathery, strap-shaped leaves, with tall panicles of small, tubular flowers in summer
‘Jester’ is one of the newer, more compact and incredibly highly coloured cultivars of New Zealand Flax. It has a graceful, arching, widely-spreading habit and the most strikingly coloured leaves of bright flamingo-pink edged with lime-green. These are colours that need to be used with care and can vary slightly according to growing position and conditions so choose companions carefully. As with many of these colourful plants, a position in full sun and in good moist soil will make Phormium ‘Jester’ happy.
