Sow indoors, warm kitchen windowsill is all you need for starting these seeds. Simply fill a 9cm pot with compost, leaving a 1.5cm gap from the top of the pot for easy watering later on. Place the mat on the compost and firm down gently. Cover with a fine layer of compost, water well. Place in a warm position, a temperature of 15-20°C is ideal. Keep moist. Plants can then be grown on a cool, light pick a few leaves from each plant so they regrow quickly. Leaves are best picked immediately before use. For maximum flavour herb leaves should beadded to cooked dishes at the last minute.
