Description
This cracking upright plant has whorls of lance shaped deep purple leaves which make it colourful even when not in flower. In July and August starry yellow flowers appear nestled in the upper leaf axils and these are an amazing contrast to the colourful purple leaves. The flowers are attractive to butterflies and other pollinating insects. This variety does spread but is not invasive. Needs soil which does not dry out. Height up to 1m (3ft 3ins), spread 50cm (20ins) but will slowly increase if not cut back.
