Description
Hamamelis Orange Beauty certainly lives up to its name! Better known as Witch Hazel, these flowering shrubs produce masses of spidery blooms from December to February, making them ideal winter plants for colour. The flowers have a yellow-orange hue and are tinged with purple towards the centre.
In spring, light green foliage emerges on these hardy shrubs, and is flushed with purple before turning dark green for summer. In autumn, the elliptic leaves take on fiery shades of orange and yellow for striking autumn colour.
Witch Hazel are low maintenance outside shrubs that are simple to grow and look after. They prefer slightly acidic, moist but well-drained soil and flourish in full sun or partial shade. Mulch in spring to help retain moisture in the soil and prune as required to remove dead or damaged branches. Witch hazel is an easy plant that requires very little maintenance to help it thrive.
