Description
Evergreen with huge, 20-40cm, glossy, dark green leaves edged with coarse black teeth, which grow on long petioles (stalks) up to 50cm giving this spectacular plant a subtropical effect. In autumn it produces fascinating clusters of pompoms of creamy white flowers on long stalks and these are sometimes followed by black fruit in spring. Plant in fertile, moist, free draining soil in sun or dappled shade, sheltered from cold, drying winds. It will need some protection in cold winters. It can also be grown inside as a house plant.
