Description
Hailing from South America, Cortaderia selloana ‘Pumila’ or Pampas grass is an ornamental grass, forming dense clumps of tall, narrow, arching leaves topped with captivating feathery plumes of creamy white flowers which bloom late into the summer and autumn. It is a tough, hardy variety that is perfect for screening and creating natural meadow arrangements.
‘Pumila’ will thrive in well-drained soil in warm, sunny spots. Make sure to protect the young crowns during the first winter with a deep layer of dry mulch and give it lots of space to develop and grow. Water regularly, making sure the soil is soaked thoroughly.
