Pachypodium horombense

Description

Fitting in well with the bizarre flora of its native Madagascar, Pachypodium horombense grows as a bulbous stem protected by tough spikes and has a crown of oval leaves, it may even produce some small flowers in the summer months.

WATERING

In Summer water thoroughly only when 100% of the soil has dried out. A/W refrain from watering. Spring gradually increase watering – depending on temp and light exposure.

LIGHT REQUIREMENTS

Full sun.

FEED

Use a cactus fertiliser 2-3 times a year.

REPOTTING

Can remain the same pot for a number of years, repot when roots begin to protrude from the bottom of the nursery pot. Use a very well-draining cactus potting mix, with a minimum of 50% extra drainage medium (such as pumice, gravel or perlite).
