Description
Commonly known as Mexican Orange Blossom, Choisya Scented Gem is a wonderfully fragrant small evergreen shrub that flowers twice a year. In spring, pink buds appear and open out into highly scented white flowers that attract bees, butterflies, and other pollinators to the garden. A second flush of flowers emerges in October, providing floral interest just as other plants are beginning to fade for the season.
Choisya plants are low maintenance small flowering shrubs and don’t take much looking prefer a sheltered, spot in full sun or partial shade and thrive in moist, well-draining soil. A light annual prune after flowering is enough to tidy up any stray shoots.
These hardy shrubs are attractive outdoor plants all year round. A Choisya shrub is ideal for filling beds and borders but will also grow well in a garden pot.
