Its large (12cm across) vivid pink flowers have rich hints of plum purple, and are contrasted against dark, near-black stems. It has been found in trials to be particularly robust and weather resistant, with a strong, vigorous growth habit. What’s not to love?! Originating from Central and South America, dahlias like ‘Feline Yvonne’ are half-hardy and, in the UK, will need some form of winter protection. Many gardeners lift and store the tubers in a frost-free environment, while others prefer to leave them in the ground with a thick layer of insulating mulch such as a pile of bark chippings. ‘Feline Yvonne’ dahlias are best seen planted in groups of five or more.
