Description
Start the seeds indoors between February and April.
Sow the seeds on the surface of moist, welldrained seed compost and press them in gently.
Lightly cover with a fine layer of vermiculite or very thin compost.
Place in a heated propagator at a constant temperature of 18-25c.
The seeds will germinate in 15-30 days.
Once the seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into individual pots and grow on in cooler conditions.
Gradually acclimatise the plants to outdoor conditions.
Plant out once the danger of frost has passed, spacing plants about 30cm apart.
Pinch out the growing tips to encourage bushier plants.
Deadhead regularly to prolong the flowering season.
