Johnsons Cornflower Double Blue Seeds, Easy to grow and popular for bees and butterflies. Protect late sowings with cloches in cold weather.
For outdoor sowingWhen March to May and August to In a prepared seed bed in flowering Sow thinly in rows 45cm apart. Cover lightly with 0.5cm of fine soil. Firm gently and keep moist. Seedlings appear 14-28 days. Make 2-3 sowings for a longer flowering When large enough thin to 15cm apart. Keep moist and weed June to September. Remove dead heads to prolong flowering. Late sowings flower the following year.
A traditional favourite. Superb for naturalised planting amongst grasses or in annual borders and as long lasting cut flowers. Attracts bees and butterflies.
