Description
Mr Fothergill’s Tomato Roma Vf Seeds, Very tasty ‘plum’ tomatoes. This variety does well outside and can be grown in large patio pots with support to keep branches off the ground, trim plants if they become to large.
Sow indoors, 0.5cm deep, thinly in a pot of compost. Water well and place in a warm position. A temperature of 15-20°C. is ideal. Keep moist. Seedlings usually appear in 7-14 days. Transplant to individual pots when 10-15cm tall. Grow on in cooler, but not cold conditions. Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions (avoid frosts), before planting out 60cm apart, when frosts are over. Do not pinch out side shoots. Provide support if trusses become too heavy with fruit. This variety may also be grown in a polytunnel or cool greenhouse but generally performs better outside. For best results keep well watered and provide a regular liquid feed once fruit begins to set.
