Description
Mr Fothergill’s Nasturtium Arizona Mix Seeds, Ideal for ground cover and baskets. Do not feed nasturtiums, as this will encourage leafy growth rather than flowers. They do well on poor, hungry soils and withstand fairly dry conditions.
Sow outdoors where they are to flower, 1.5cm deep, directly into finely prepared soil which has already been watered. Sow two seeds together every 35cm. Seedlings usually appear in 21-28 days. Remove the weaker plant, which can be transplanted elsewhere if desired. Water well until young plants are established. Or sow indoors for earlier flowers, 1.5cm deep, individually in small pots of compost. Keep moist. Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions (avoid frosts), before planting out 35m apart, when frosts are over. Do not feed nasturtiums, as this will encourage leafy growth rather than flowers.
• A hardy annual, flowers the same year as sown
• Unique ‘star-flowered’ trailing, spreading variety
• For patio pots, hanging baskets and ground cover
Sow time: Feb-Jun
Flowering/Harvesting time: Jun-Oct
