Description

Delightful foliage, large colourful blooms – Cyclamen persicum has it all. An ideal winter-flowering variety, this plant is just the thing to perk up the home during the dreary, grey winter months. Developing heart-shaped leaves that are a shade of dark green, they are soon accompanied by splashes of silver, giving the leaves a fantastic marbled effect. The flowers begin to bloom at the start of winter, atop large upright stems that seemingly tower over the marbled foliage and last throughout winter until spring where the plant will begin to enter its dormancy period for the summer. Take care of the dormant plant through summer and you’ll soon be welcoming it back for the coming winter.

Keep the soil of this plant moist, only water it when the soil is dry to the touch. Standing the plant in water for 1 hour, allowing it to draw as much water through the roots as it needs is considered the most effective method for keeping this plant happy. Remember to wait for the excess water to drain before re-potting.
