The Dryopteris affinis ‘Cristata (the King)’ produces upright to arched, bright golden-green foliage with crested tips on both the pinnae and fronds. Commonly known as the golden male fern, this plant is a wonderful addition to a shaded border or woodland area.
Thrives best in dappled, part or full shade in a moist, well drained, humus rich soil. Can tolerate partial or full sun if watered regularly. Can withstand temperatures down to -15°C, but may not tolerate fully exposed areas.
