Calendula – Nova
This is an enduring favourite which attracts butterflies and birds that feed on seed heads. This hardy annual reaches the height of 60cm.
Sow outdoors, March-May or August-October, where they are to flower, 0.5cm deep, directly into finely-prepared, well-drained soil, which has already been watered. Seedlings usually appear in 7-21 days. Thin seedlings to 23cm apart. For a continuous display, make sowings at two to three-week intervals. Water well until plants are established. Late summer and autumn sowings will flower the following year. Flowers from May to September.
