Description
Raised in Kent in 1972 and noted for intense, superb rich aromatic flavour with taste of aniseed developing after picking, crisp yet soft with melting juicy flesh. A Cox-like flavour with good balancing acidity. Skin greenish-yellow streaked red. Hardy, easy to grow and consistent prolific cropper. Pick mid-September. The blossom attracts bees, and later any fallen fruit is eagerly consumed by thrushes and other similar birds. Bullfinches are, unfortunately, partial to the buds.
