Description
Start the seeds indoors from January-May or August-December.
Sow the seeds thinly on the surface of moist, seed compost and lightly cover.
Keep at a temperature of 120-24cc until germination occurs.
Seeds will usually germinate within 7-14 days.
Once seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant them into individual pots.
Gradually acclimatise the plants to outdoor conditions before planting out.
Plant out after the risk of frost has passed into their final flowering position.
Space plants about 30-40 cm apart in borders or beds.
Water regularly during dry spells until established, but avoid waterlogging.
Deadhead spent flowers to encourage continued blooming throughout the season.
Cut back old foliage in early spring to maintain tidy clumps and encourage fresh growth.
