Description
Red tinted shoots onto which fine light green leaves unfold in spring turning to emerald green with occasional delicate red edges in summer, then turning to an amazing deep purple-red burgundy with tints of orange in autumn. Small pendent clusters of tiny reddish-purple flowers late spring followed by red-winged fruits in summer. Beautiful specimen plant with a softly rounded crown, either in the ground or in a container. Heat and sun tolerant and more resistant to leaf burn than some acers. Height 60 – 75cm (2 – 2.5ft), spread 90cm (3ft).
