Description
Sow the seeds in a propagator and cover with approximately 6mm of compost.
Place in a warm, bright position such as a windowsill at 1821c.
Seeds will germinate in 10-14 days.
When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into individual pots and grow on in a warm, light position.
After the last frost, plant out in well-prepared soil enriched with manure from the previous autumn.
Space plants 60cm apart or grow in large containers filled with good-quality compost.
Keep plants well-watered to encourage healthy head and side curd development.
Harvest the central head first, then continue picking the side curds as they mature for a cut and come again supply throughout the season.
