Rarely offered late flowering clump-forming herbaceous perennial from Japan. Forms multi-stems with terminal bottle-brush white flowers in late summer. Perfectly hardy with us and grows to about 1 metre. with slim acuminate leaves. Suitable for part-shade where it grows in low mountain forests from the south of Kanto to Kyushu, Japan. Known for the ‘frost flowers’ that form on the old stems in winter.
