Description
Large, dense, native, deciduous shrub or small tree with spiny shoots and glossy green toothed leaves with paler undersides which turn yellow in autumn. The yellowish-green fragrant flowers are borne in May and are attractive food plants to Brimstone Butterflies. In autumn it bears many clusters of rounded, fleshy shiny fruits which turn to glossy black when ripe. Tolerant of chalky soil.
