Potato Special Compost 80 Litre
A lightweight peat based compost very similar to our multi purpose compost but with calcified seaweed instead of lime.
The compost needs to be in the correct ph range so the addition of calcified seaweed instead of ground & dolomitic limestone
means that the tubers wont get the scabbed skins found as a result of using the run of the mill compost mixes currently available in Garden Centres and the Sheds,
This compost is particularly light and fluffy (with no lumps of wood or debris found nowadays in other composts) resulting in perfectly formed blemish free tubers ideal for the show bench
Usage
I recommend planting the tubers on a bed of the compost in the bottom of your pot or other container. Covering the tubers with just a few inches and then adding more compost as the tops grow away.
This with result in the stems sending out more and more tubers as the stems roots into the fresh compost
