Description
Mr Fothergill’s Marrow Long Green Bush 2 Seeds, Excellent crops of large, tasty fruits. A plant pot sunk into the soil close to every marrow plant will ensure that when you water, the moisture goes straight to the roots.
Sow indoors for surest results,1.5cm deep, edge down, in small pots of compost. Water well and place in a warm position. A temperature of 15-20° ideal. Keep moist. Seedlings usually appear in 7-14 days. Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions (avoid frosts), before planting out 90cm apart, when frosts are over. Or sow outdoors for ease, where they are to crop, 1.5cm deep directly into finely prepared soil. Allow 90cm between sowing positions. Sow two seeds on edge per position. Early sowings benefit from cloche protection. Thin to leave the stronger plant. Keep well watered. Can also be cut as courgettes when they are about 15cm long to avoid a glut, or leave to mature as marrows.
