Gymnocalycium saglionis

Description

Growing in abundance within the rocky hills of Argentina, Gymnocalycium saglionis is a solitary barrel cactus. Stems grow rather flat, with long grey recurved spines for protection. During the growing season funnel-shaped pink blooms emerge in a crown at the top of the stem.

WATERING

During S/S water when the soil is 100% dry. Refrain from watering during winter months.

LIGHT REQUIREMENTS

Full sun.

REPOTTING

Repot every 2-3 years. Use a well draining cactus compost, adding extra drainage such as perlite, pumice or grit.

FEED

Use a cactus fertiliser twice between April – September.
