To survive, this plant has numerous toothed heads or “traps” that they use to capture their food, mostly consisting of flies and other small insects, once the prey has been captured it is slowly digested, the nutrients are absorbed and the traps re-open, and the cycle begins again.

An excellent plant for any room in the house which will fascinate the whole family. The Venus Fly Trap is a particularly captivating plant for younger children and so it’s great for introducing them to the world of house plants.
