Description
Vaccinium ‘Nelson’ is an upright, bushy shrub that produces heavy crops of large light coloured blueberries. It’s deciduous foliage boasts a delightful green colour with a slightly darker shade than other vacciniums, these are accompanied by lovely white flowers that appear and last throughout spring, these flowers are very attractive to bees. The berries themselves are a very light shade of blue and are quite large in size, they have a very sweet taste and can be eaten raw or they can be used in cooking. This variety prefers a sunny or partially shaded area and is best grown in acidic, well drained soil. These bushes are self-pollinating but planting in groups will provide a higher yield of fruit.
