Description

This gorgeous, mound-forming shrub is the Festuca glauca Intense Blue. It is best known for its blue-green, wiry foliage as it gives off great colour throughout the year. Blue-green flowerspikes will then appear in Summer, adding further interest to the plant when they rise from the plants base. These will then turn to golden-yellow straw with age. Placement won’t be a concern with this variety as borders, pots, patios or displays are ideal.

Blue Fescue, as its more commonly known, has a compact, mounding habit that adds a great texture and structure to your garden. The low maintenance care process is also ideal, as it means you only need to water it every so often. The plant becomes relatively tolerant to periods of drought once it establishes itself. It is best to plant it in sunny spots of the garden within moist, well-drained soil so the plant can thrive.
