The Venus Fly Trap is certainly one of the most fascinating house plants to have inside your home. An excellent choice for both its unusual appearance and interesting, fly-trapping method. Leaves are double lobed, hinging together to be able to trap insects in side, and either side has a row of spikes to ensure the prey cannot escape.

Inside the leaves, nectar lures flies into the trap, and once they make contact with the small hairs on the inside of the leaves, the trap will close over and the plant will digest the fly or insect within a few days. An excellent first plant for children, but fascinating regardless of how old you may be – it’s always exciting to see the Venus Fly Trap in action!
