Description

Commonly grown as a house plant, this extremely important commercial plant, coffea arabica, is originally native to the humid forests of Ethiopia and South Sudan but today it is cultivated in many other parts of the world. In its wild state, it is a small tree, up to 8 m tall, but in cultivation it is usually pruned to a small shrub to facilitate the harvesting process. It has elliptical, shiny green leaves and fragrant white flowers followed yellow to purple fruits.
