Description

Among our favourite species, Caryota mitis has large, sweeping stems with fine, saw-toothed leaves (lending it the common name, Fishtail Palm).

In S/S water when 20% of the top soil has dried out. In A/W allow top soil to dry out 50%.

Bright, indirect.

Use a houseplant fertiliser once every 2 months from April – October.

Repot when plant is crowding pot, roughly every 2-3 years. Use a well-draining houseplant compost with an added drainage medium like perlite.
