For outdoor sowingWhen March to May or August to In a prepared seed bed in flowering Sow thinly in rows 20cm apart. Cover with 0.5cm fine soil. Firm gently and keep moist. Seedlings appear 14-28 days. Make 2-3 sowings for a longer flowering When large enough thin to 15cm apart. Keep moist and weed June to October. Remove dead heads to prolong flowering. Late sowings flower the following year.
Fabulous deep purple-maroon double flowers look wonderful planted in drifts in a border. With long stems and attractive seed pods for cutting.
