Description
Excellent variety for crab apple jelly as its orange/pink apples produce an attractive jelly of the same colour. A profusion of fragrant white flowers in spring over a long period which are attractive to pollinators and are followed by masses of colourful creamy orange-yellow apples which persist well into winter as the birds tend not to eat them. Plenty to pick leaving a wonderful display on the tree. Upright habit, deciduous. Relatively new introduction from New , compact, self-fertile variety which is good for pollinating other apples. It produces large crab apples which are excellent for jelly making as the orange/pink fruits produce an equally colourful orange/pink jelly. Excellent ornamental tree producing a profusion of scented, single, pure white flowers in spring, then the colourful fruits in autumn which persist well as the birds tend not to eat them. Tolerant of shade but is better in full sun.
