Ctenanthe burle-marxii

Description

With striking foliage like this, it comes as no surprise that the Ctenanthe burle-marxii makes up part of the Marantaceae family, which also includes Calatheas, Marantas and Stromanthes, or as we like to refer to them – nature’s artworks. With grey-green leaves flanked with a dark green fishbone pattern, it certainly holds its own when it comes to the family portrait.

WATERING

In S/S water when 20% of the top soil has dried out. In A/W allow top soil to dry out 50%.

LIGHT REQUIREMENTS

Indirect, shade tolerant.

FEED

Use a houseplant fertiliser every 3-4 weeks during the growing season (April – September).

REPOTTING

Repot every 2-3 years using a houseplant compost or when roots appear from the bottom of the nursery container.
