Kniphofia Ember Glow

Description

Kniphofia ‘Ember Glow’ is an attractive low-growing deciduous perennial shrub with green grass-like leaves and long upright stems. Despite being more of a compact variety, the bi-coloured yellow and red flowers ensure that this plant is a worthy addition to any garden. The flowers begin to appear in late summer and are bright red at the top, mellowing to orange-yellow further down the stem, giving a fantastic two-tone effect later in the year.

As a perennial, this plant will flower from August to October and then retreat into the ground for winter, before re-emerging the following year, it is best to remove the faded flower spikes in winter. Ideal for garden borders that you want to stand out, it provides perfect contrast to blues and purples or enhances gardens with already warm colours.
