Description
Buddleia Butterfly Candy Little Purple is ideal for beds, borders, pots and containers. While it is fast-growing, this is a dwarf variety that won’t overstep its mark. Bright green foliage appears in Spring and is followed by cones of purple flower clusters in Summer. These blooms have a pleasant fragrance that permeates the garden and is irresistible to butterflies and other pollinators – hence the common name, Butterfly Bush.
This Butterfly Bush is easy to grow and doesn’t demand much attention to thrive. Plant it in a spot where it can soak up full or partial sun and keep the soil moist but well drained. The shrub is drought tolerant once established but will need to be watered during particularly dry spells.
Buddleia is unfussy and grows well in most soil types as long as drainage is good. Once established, Butterfly Bushes are fully hardy against harsh Winter temperatures, though those grown in pots may need some protection from insulation.
