Description
A relatively new variety with semi-evergreen foliage and lovely contrasting blooms. The Agapanthus ‘Snow Crystal’ can be considered half-hardy, though in colder regions it should be treated as more of a perennial. The foliage consists of mid-to-dark green, clumping, strap-like leaves which sit beneath the tall, upright stems which hold rounded, dense umbels of pure white trumpet-shaped flowers which appear around mid-Summer and can last until the beginnings of Autumn.
Plant in moist, fertile, well-drained soils and keep in full sun in a sheltered position. Can be planted outside in temperate regions but container planting is advised to avoid harsh Winter by moving under glass. Mulching and other forms of frost protection are recommended if planting outdoors.
