Cordyline Atlantic Green is an attractive plant that is perfect for containers and pots. Its fountain like shape appears like a starburst when planted on the patio and the evergreen foliage ensures this plant is the ideal way to add colour and interest throughout the year.

Boasting long slim leaves in bold dark green, Cordyline Atlantic Green blooms beautifully fragranced white flowers during the summer months followed by berries in autumn. These attract bees, butterflies, birds and other wildlife to the garden and it’s fascinating to watch the plant change from season to season.

As the plant matures it produces branching trunks and takes on the appearance of a small tree. This still works well in a container and brings additional height to your patio area but if you’d rather keep your plant contained, it is simple to prune the top growth and use the cutting to grow another plant. Do this in spring and you’ll soon see fresh green foliage burst into life on the original plant.

Cordyline Australis Atlantic Green is a relatively low maintenance option for container planting. When placed in the right spot, it largely takes care of itself, requiring no pruning or deadheading. You may wish to bring the container inside or provide additional insulation during the cold winter months to protect the plant against first and low temperatures.
